Who am I?

A translator and lover of foreign languages, with experience in international business and customer service. The most important life values I hold are: health, family, honesty and continuous self-improvement.

My story

In secondary school I was convinced I would become an English teacher. Various events meant that my career did indeed become intertwined with foreign languages, but it happened in a completely different way than I originally expected.

After half a year of studying English philology in Poland, I realised it wasn’t the path I was looking for. I went to England to learn the language – the living, real version I could practise, not just study in theory. I worked as a carer for children and people with disabilities, and even then I knew that connecting with other people mattered enormously to me.

After moving to the Netherlands, I started a Dutch-language course for EU citizens, while taking on small jobs that let me keep improving the new language. It was in the Netherlands that I completed a degree taught in English in international business and management, during which I did an internship at a Dutch company, also gaining business experience.

What do I do?

After returning to Poland, I felt the need to put my experience to use and share it with others. Combining all the knowledge and skills in foreign languages, sales and marketing I had gained over the years, I decided to set up Avista Translations & Consulting.

You can find out more about it in the About the Company section.

My mission is to help people overcome language and cultural barriers. I support people in communication – so that it is understood by society and business partners all over the world.
